This attractive village of around 3,000-4,000 people is located around 2 miles west of Haywards Heath and is extremely popular with those looking for an idyllic house in the country, with the convenience of being under 40 miles from London and just a 15-minute drive from the coast.
For a relatively small population there is a friendly, vibrant social scene, with clubs and societies accepting new members all the time for everything from drama and fitness through to book clubs.
There are beautifully kept old buildings and a great sense of community, with events such as the annual Cuckfield bonfire showcasing the village and arguably being one of the best bonfire night events in mid Sussex.
Families are drawn to the area for the excellent primary and secondary schools, as well as the delightful village atmosphere that offers much of what you would find in a big town, but on a more personal level. There are independent boutiques, coffee shops and fabulous family-owned and managed pubs such as The Talbot – in fact, there are four pubs in the village, so there will always be something to choose from!
Positioned just two miles from Haywards Heath, the village offers easy access to its train station and road networks. The M23 is a short drive from the village with its direct access to Brighton, Gatwick and beyond.
