Right in the middle of Horsham and Haywards Heath is Handcross, a delightful small village with easy access to the A23 which heads north towards Crawley, Gatwick and the M23 into London and south towards the coast. Horsham and Haywards Heath are both a 15-minute drive away.
Along the High Street are two fantastic pubs, the traditional looking Royal Oak and the more modern, refurbished pub, The Red Lion, that serves wonderful food throughout the week but is best known for its Sunday Roasts served with a gigantic Yorkshire pudding!
Nymans Gardens, a 30-acre expanse of parklands run by the National Trust, is adjacent to the High Street. This beautiful country house and gardens offers entry to explore their site and hosts events throughout the year from guided walks to painting workshops. Also off the High Street are 20-acres of woodland and water gardens at High Beeches Garden.
Families often move to Handcross for the popular co-ed independent prep day and boarding school, Handcross Park, which was awarded Prep School of the Year in 2019.
