Roughly 2 miles east of Haywards Heath, and just over a mile from Lindfield, Walstead may be just a small hamlet, but it has a lot of appeal to families of different generations.
Great Walstead School is an independent private school for boys and girls from age 2 ½ - 13 years. They pride themselves on their unique environment within an outdoor forest school setting and focus on creative arts and sports as much as they do the traditional academic subjects.
Also in the hamlet is Paxhill Park Gold Club, a marvellous 18-hole course designed by Patrick Tallack, and benefitting from the introduction of a number of man-made lakes that have enhanced the playing challenge.
Finally, the magnificent 19th-century Walstead Place is now a care home that prides itself on its beautiful gardens, fine dining and hobbies, events and activities that can be enjoyed by permanent residents, those needing convalesce or respite care.
