Welcome to Pease Pottage:
Welcome to Pease Pottage. Nestled in the heart of West Sussex, this charming village offers a delightful blend of rural tranquillity and modern convenience. Let us take a stroll through its key features:

Transport Links:
Pease Pottage may sound quaint, but it is well-connected to the outside world. The A23 runs right through it, providing easy access to nearby towns and cities. Need to hop on a train? No problem. The nearby Three Bridges railway station will whisk you away to London, Brighton and anywhere else you may want to visit.

Education:
For families with young ones, rest assured that Pease Pottage has its educational bases covered. The local primary school, Pease Pottage Primary, provides a nurturing environment for budding minds to flourish. For older students, there are several reputable secondary schools such as Cottesmore School and the Church of England Secondary School, Holy Trinity. Both are easy to reach, ensuring that education is always a priority in our village.

High Street:
Pease Pottage may not boast a bustling high street like some of its urban counterparts, it more than makes up for it with its cozy charm. The local shops offer everything you need for day-to-day living, from groceries to gifts. Plus, there is a delightful selection of cafes and pubs where you can while away the hours with good company and even better food. The village has a popular independent florist next to their pub, The Black Swan. The Black Swan serves real pub food and cask ales from its family friendly interior featuring large, roaring fireplaces. During the warmer months there is a large outside garden where you can enjoy nibbles with a gin and tonic or meet friends for a main meal.

Local Community:
One of the things that makes Pease Pottage truly special is its sense of community. Whether it is the annual village fete, the weekly farmers' market, or simply a friendly chat with a neighbour, you will always feel like you belong here. The Community Centre was opened in June of 2019 and is available for all types of social events and even had a fully fitted kitchen. If you are new to the area, do not worry – our welcoming residents will make you feel right at home in no time.

Points of Interest:
While Pease Pottage may be small, it is certainly not lacking in things to see and do. Nature lovers will delight in the beautiful countryside that surrounds the village, perfect for leisurely walks or picnics on a sunny day. History buffs can explore the nearby Nymans Gardens or Wakehurst Place, both steeped in centuries of fascinating tales. And for a bit of excitement, why not pay a visit to the nearby Go Ape adventure park, where you can swing through the trees and ride around on Segways , or just take a stroll around Tilgate Lake.

Pease Pottage has an interesting history, lying on an ancient pre-Roman trackway that ran along the forest ridge from Ashdown Forest through to Horsham. This pre-dated the roads built by the Romans to link the south coast of England to London and the route can be found on ordinance survey maps as well as seen in various places, for example, as an old sunken railway running through Worth Forest east of Pease Pottage.
